Early this year, I had a short 4-day jaunt in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The progressive city has beautifully preserved structures from its yesteryears under the French regime which is distinguishable in the building architecture around District 1. Strolled around the blocks of the said district and many of its buildings and parks are instagram-worthy. And glad to share that walking around Ho Chi Minh is real easy when you have Google Maps on your mobile. Also, worry not for the mobile internet in HCM is surprisingly affordable and reliable. All you have to do is buy a local sim and avail of Gigas of data.
Non-stop food trip! The country where phat pho originated, the vacay obviously was a progressive pig-out session, trying almost any food we haven’t tried yet along the sidewalks of District 1. And the coffee here is one of the best.
Just like the Philippines, Ho Chi Minh is a tropical country too – experiencing an average temperature of 30 degrees celsius during the day. Walking around in this condition, it’s a must to wear comfortable, light and easy ensembles. For half of my stay in HCM, I suited up on cotton short-sleeved polo + soft linen pants and leather mandals get-up. Relaxed and comfy, it was a perfect outfit for flea market shopping and entire day of touring the lovely HCM City.
Can’t wait to share with you my Ho Chi Minh City itinerary+ tips which I’ll publish real soon here on my personal Life+Style and Travel Blog, Doyzkie.com.
