Two ofย my ย favorite stopovers whenever I am in Singapore are Little India and Chinatown. Why? Aside for being bright and buzzing destinations, it is where we can sample great tasting and authentic dishes from the respective countries.
Authentic Indian hasheriesย are all over Little India whereย one can enjoy a good meal for less than SGD10. Chicken biryani, beef vindaloo, chapati and rotiย are my personal picks from this side of town. And when at Chinatown, drop by one of Singapore’s oldest hawker centers – Maxwell Hawker Centre. Located at the corner of Maxwell Road and South Bridge Road, enjoy affordable hawker street food at affordable prices. Singapore Laksa and Hainanese Chicken rice are must-tries!ย Plus, don’t forget to pass by Pagoda Street for Chinese food and Dimsum and affordable souvenirs and pasalubong!
This particular day comprised of tonsย of outdoor walking, which called for light and breezy dressing – cotton short-sleeved polo (Mr. Blue), resort pants (H&M), mandals (Singaporean brand-Sixth Empire), Daniel Wellington Watchย (Buy online and use my discount code ‘doyzkie’ to get 15% off and an extra strap of your choice. Promo code valid until the end of July)
Will be posting sample Singapore itineraries soon that you might be interested inย swingingย by on your next visit to the Lion City! Hope you drop by Doyzkie.comย again real soon (and regularly :P)! Teehee.
